Rhys, Amarante and Le Bon team up for awesome OVNI label showcase in vinyl form

Gruff Rhys with Rodrigo Amarante and Cate Le Bon will release a split 7 inch single for record shop day on April 21st

The Cate Le Bon song, Time Can Change Your Mind is exclusive to the single and was produced by Jonathon Wilson at Five Star studio Los Angeles.

The flipside contains the song ‘Gold Medal Winner’ by Rodrigo and Gruff. Rodrigo being the same Rodrigo Amarante that plays  in the band Little Joy and also Brasilian band Os Hermanos. This co-written track is not quite exclusive – it previously figured as a bonus track on the Japanese version of Red Hot and Rio 2 and all proceeds go to the Red Hot Organisation. It was produced by Mario Caldato Jr in Los Angeles and is so special we wanted to press it to vinyl.

The sleeve was designed by Cardiff based sleeve genius dlt.

In 2008 or 9 the Londonian Snowdonian  legend that is Akira The Don turned up at my flat with a microphone and mobile studio to record some vocals for a song he’d written, it’s finally all done with this video and everything. Please go to the ATD site where you can download this, his new album and his incredible mixtapes that he seems to produce every few weeks. Sorry I’m a bit late posting this as I’ve been on tour.
